David Leonard CPA, CA - President

David Leonard joined CARE Industries Ltd. in 2005 and three years later purchased CARE Industries in July 2008, at which time he assumed the role of President. David's background in accounting/finance, combined with his leadership and determination to succeed has stewarded the business since. He previously spent time with Goldman Sachs working in their Grand Cayman and Jersey City offices. David completed his Bachelor of Commerce Degree at the University of Calgary and went on to complete his Chartered Accountant designation with KPMG in their Calgary office and worked in the Oil and Gas Tax Group where he completed his Canadian In-Depth Tax course.

Throughout the years, David has worked to develop relationships with customers, suppliers and stakeholders while developing a solid technical base in the manufacturing industry. CARE Industries continues to adapt to industry changes from technical developments to challenging volatility in activity levels by responding with strategies to meet customer needs and diversify its product and service offerings. Under his leadership CARE has evolved from a domestic rig manufacturer to a custom rig manufacturer, supplying the international markets with mobile Workover Rigs and Heli-Portable Drilling/Workover Rigs. He continues to expand the product offerings and operational capability of the company into new industries and new opportunities.


Mike MacKenzie - Vice President - Operations

Mike MacKenzie has been with CARE Industries since 2001 and brings with him over 25 years of manufacturing experience. Mike oversees all of CARE's manufacturing activities including fabrication, welding, mechanical and assembly. Mike is a CWB Certified Welding Supervisor and Inter-provincial Journeyman Welder, with many years of experience with CARE's products and customers. Prior to working at CARE, Mike spent time working with Hitachi Canadian Industries manufacturing Power Generation Equipment. Mike offers a unique mixture of experience, skills and a commitment to understanding your equipment needs.


Daniel Murphy P.Eng - Engineer & Quality Manager

Daniel Murphy is a professional Mechanical Engineer licensed to the practice with APEGA in the Province of Alberta. His responsibilities include the oversight of the Design and Engineering activities, as well as the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System. Daniel has a strong understanding of manufacturing, welding, inspections and is uniquely positioned to meet the challenges of his position with CARE. Furthermore, he is licensed with Transport Canada and is a CWB Level 1 Weld Inspector.


Cory Cooley - Fabrication Production Manager

Cory Cooley is a Project Manager with Care Industries and has been working in the oil and gas sector for almost 17 years. His responsibilities include the planning, overseeing and the execution of projects and processes so Care can deliver projects on time, within budget and with the desired outcomes aligned to objectives. Cory has a strong understanding of manufacturing, welding, inspections and is uniquely positioned to meet the challenges of his position with CARE. Furthermore, he is a Red Seal Interprovincial welder with over 28 years in the welding and fabrication industry.


Kevin Bryar - Project Manager

Kevin Bryar is a Project Manager with a background in welding and fabrication. He has been involved in many projects including new service and drilling rig builds, retrofits and recertifications during the past 10 years as a welder, foreman and project manager. He has supervised multiple international projects on site with great success in Gabon Africa, Bogota Colombia, Dammam Saudi Arabia and Houston Texas. As a project manager he is involved in all aspects of his project and works closely with the customers to understand and execute their specific requirements. He is a CWB certified weld supervisor, Journeyman Red Seal welder.


Cody Mast - Mechanical Production Manager

Cody has been growing and developing CARE’s mechanical department since 2010. He is a red seal Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) with a commercial vehicle inspection license and trained on aftertreatment (DEF) systems EPA 07, EPA 10, GHG14, & GHG17. His responsibilities include oversight of the mechanical division, production scheduling, implementation & compliance to CMVSS/FMVSS standards, customer service, and troubleshooting complex Mechanical & Technical issues. Richard Hickie - Project Manager

Richard Hickie is a Project Manager at CARE with 22 years of mechanical experience in the Oil & Gas industry. Richard has extensive operational experience with Service Rigs and previously managed Nabors Production Services / C&J Energy Services Service Rig operational maintenance, Quality Assurance, Level IV Re-certifications, Equipment Upgrades and Rebuilds. Richard uses his strong operational experience and knowledge of mechanical systems to deliver safe and reliable outcomes in your equipment. Richard is a Red Seal HET, has earned his Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt Certification, has training in DDC-8880 DDEC III, IV, I, and Loss Control Management.


Peter Julien CPA, CGA - Chief Financial Officer

Peter Julien is a CPA, CGA and has led the financial and business systems initiatives at CARE since 2011. He has worked in the Oilfield Services and Manufacturing Business for over 20 years in both financial and quality roles. Previous roles as Corporate Controller and Business Systems Manager allowed Peter to gain extensive industry experience both here in Canada and in overseas Energy Services market.
